Company

Designing for people first.

We believe that technology should capture nuances.

Our mission is to deliver systems that are human-friendly, reliable enough for safety, expressive enough for interaction, and practical enough to deploy. We care about how it feels to people, how it integrates for teams, and how it behaves outside the lab.

From robots to everyday objects, we bring a simple promise:
build trust with technology through transparent sensing.

Meet the team

We're a team of engineers, researchers, and designers united by the belief that physical interaction is fundamental to meaningful human-machine collaboration.

Team members with robot

Marc Teyssier

CEO, Co-Founder

Marc is a researcher and designer. He obtained a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, where he focused on robotic interfaces designed around affective and social touch.

His research led to the development of artificial skin sensors that sense human touch and brings a more natural and human-centered dimension to physical interaction. Now he is convinced that robotics research will benefit from simple technologies that are easy to setup and to develop with. Alongside his research, Marc has developed and commercialized tools for developers and makers, with a strong focus on making hardware and software interfaces easier to build and use.

At Muca, he leads sensor research, fabrication, and manufacturing strategy, while continuing his academic work as a Researcher and Deputy Director at the Institute for Future Technologies.

Loïc Desirest

CTO, Co-Founder

Loïc is a technical leader with a strong conviction: the future of software goes beyond the screen, and robust hardware-software systems are essential to building the next generation of products. His work combines software architecture, developer experience, and machine learning infrastructure with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability.

He has built critical applications where reliability is non-negotiable. This background gives him a rigorous engineering approach and a strong ability to design technical foundations that can scale from prototype to production.

At Muca, Loïc leads the technical vision of the platform, from full-stack architecture and data collection infrastructure to machine learning pipelines. He is building the core systems that turn advanced tactile sensing into a developer-ready platform: reliable, scalable, and designed for real-world robotics applications.

Our Values

Human First

Every technical decision starts with understanding human needs and behaviour. We design for the way people naturally interact, not the way machines compute.

Iterate Relentlessly

Hardware is hard, but progress comes from rapid experimentation. We prototype fast, fail early, and learn from every iteration.

Build for Scale

Research breakthroughs mean nothing if they can't be manufactured. We obsess over cost, durability, and manufacturability from day one.

Pragmatic Optimism

We stay positive and forward-looking, even when things are difficult. We assume progress is possible, focus on solutions, and bring a constructive energy to the work—without lowering our standards.

They trust us

Industry partners and research institutions that already use our technology to push the boundaries of tactile interaction. Previous version of our technology has been sold to more than 150 companies worldwide.
